Starting a large scale project around your home is both disruptive and messy, no matter where you are, dust, dirt, mud and construction materials will find there way everywhere.
The initial demolition and clearance is always the worst time, as you see areas that you are familiar with being partly removed and in some cases totaly demolished.
There is then a period of work when levels, foundations, etc., are established, not much progress appears to be going on - but it is!
Resist the urge to make changes at this time as they can be very costly.

Now you are impatient to have the work completed. - Resist again ! Speeding now will seriously effect the quality of the overal finsih.
